Xpadder ps4 controller9/20/2023 It's obvious the latter part of the game was really rushed. The beginning of the game is really good even with some obvious flaws. My suspicions were correct so I quit and just watched the rest of the game on Youtube. The game seems to devolve into a bunch of similar mazes followed by a very disappointing end boss so I have no regrets. I sensed that I had reached that point where the quality dropped off so I took a peek at the game beyond that point by looking at a Youtube video. However, after I got past the caves I ended up quitting again for different reasons. Regarding Revenant, thanks for the offer but, being stubborn, I ended up re-installing the game and tinkering around with it a bit, and was able to move past the point I was stuck on. Otherwise I would never have known you replied. I saw your friend request and I didn't remember your name so I searched for the post to verify if it was you who I talked to about Revenant. The only reason I found your post is I did a search. I have a permanent purple dot next to Community but whenever I check it it says there are no replies. Time for some dungeon crawling :) Speaking of bugs, I don't know what's going on with GOG. If you'd like one of my saves just let me know, so you can keep playing from the point you had to quit. I'm really enjoying the game and I'm sorry you had those bugs ruining it for you. I'm playing Locke as a warrior with a little magic support. So far so good, the game has been very stable lately, no crashes and no items disappearing. After that I kept training to level 10 and got a broadsword, a complete suit of barbarian armor, some potions and loads of food. I got the Amulet of Rogoss you mentioned from Arakna Island, then went straight to the Ogrok Chief so I could be done with that part. Once again, many thanks for the detailed post!Īenvar: Hi again! I'm sorry for the late reply (got busy finishing Baldur's Gate 2) Still, Xpadder is a great program, used it many times in the past and will probably end up installing it again.Įmulators are fun too, we are lucky to have decent ports of some classics like Diablo 1 & Darkstone for PS1. Indeed, I used "old school" as a very broad term :) and yeah, I'm very happy with Revenant because it has natural controller support and doesn't need Steam or 3rd party software. Your best bet might be console old school action rpgs on an emulator. I don't think there are too many old school action rpgs with controller support on the pc. As for controller support, do you consider it acceptable to use Xpadder or other controller utility programs? Some people have different ideas about what constitutes "old school". ![]() Your best bet might be console old school action rpgs on an emulator.Īristotle61: I'm not sure what type of controller support you are looking for in those games, and what your definition of old school might be. Newer games like Grim Dawn fit into the category of action rpgs with controller support, but I don't know if you would consider that old school. System Shock 2 has partial controller support like Revenant. Again though, you would need to use controller software, but using that software the game works really well with a PS4 controller. If old school action adventure is acceptable you might like "Realms of the Haunting". You would have to use something like Xpadder to use a controller for that though. Omikron is action adventure, but Anachronox is action RPG. I was playing Revenant after just purchasing it on sale for $1.49 on GOG, and I also purchased Anachronox and Omikron: The Nomad Soul in the same sale. I would imagine you have played the highly rated classic action RPGs like Diablo and Deus Ex, right? I know they don't have natural controller support but can be played with controller software. I'm looking for more old school action rpgs with controller support, by chance do you know of any similar titles? Thank you! I'm not sure what type of controller support you are looking for in those games, and what your definition of old school might be. ![]() I had no clue the developer went through so much trouble, I'm happy they managed to release the game, at least. I'm still in the early stages, I hope to have better luck since those bugs you mention are totally game breaking. Aenvar: That's unfortunate, I'm sorry to read that.
